What advice would you give to incoming Ecology majors?

Be open to everything. Your interests will change 100 times before you figure out what you really want to do. Follow your passion but don’t close yourself off to new opportunities just because they don’t align with your initial plans.

What was the best piece of advice you received as a student?

Get involved and take risks. Even if a course isn’t required for graduation, take it if it seems interesting. Following your interests can open so many doors you didn’t even know were there!

The course that most changed my perspective on the world ...

Water Sustainability in the Anthropocene with Dr. Rosemond. It changed my perspective because watersheds can be affected by so many things and it helped me to understand how connected everything is.

What would be your ideal job in life?

I want to use ecological principles to design a sustainable produce farm!

What one word best describes my experience in the Odum School of Ecology?

Growth
