The most intriguing organism...

Gnats. Why do they exist? Can’t their niche be filled by something that isn’t so annoying? Why do they bite humans? What did I ever do to them? Where do they get off?

What advice would you give to incoming Ecology majors?

Hang out in the lounge as much as you can manage. Your peers are going to be awesome. They wouldn’t study ecology if they weren’t. I know this is cheesy, but there will come a day when you don’t get to do it anymore, and you’ll wish you had been around as much as possible. It warms my heart to think of all of the fun we had together.

What was the best piece of advice you received as a student?

You can Google the exact issue you’re having with R.

The course that most changed my perspective on the world ...

Cognitive Ecology. Now I am constantly thinking about how things are thinking. It’s a curse and a blessing.

What would be your ideal job in life?

Rockstar.

What one word best describes my experience in the Odum School of Ecology?

Cohesive

What was the most fun during your years in Ecology at UGA?

Spending time in the lounge with peers and faculty. The sense of community made me never want to miss a class.
